It’s for you.

Have you ever tried to describe to someone one of the best experiences in your life? Does it always end in, “You know what I mean?”  “No.. not really.”

And I used to get so upset over it, the fact that no one “understood” me. But there’s a difference. Understanding is good when you’re feeling low and need someone there. Understand isn’t so good when you describe the feel of what something good that’s so hard to describe. Because it’s your thing.

I was kind of angry when my friends didn’t understand how I felt about seeing Meryl Streep and actually talking to her. When she came out, she was this ball of light. And you know when people say: “She lit the room with her smile.” or something along the lines of that? You can’t say it and mean it unless you have seen it. Because, God, the feeling.. is incredible. It’s like you’re saying: “You. Finally you’ve come.”

And it’s not the fact that I’m seeing Meryl Streep. Her presence alone appalls me of how great it is. It’s like the air shifts when she walks in the room. There’s a buzz going around because it’s not the ordinary. There are very few people you meet in your life that have this energy. This energy is the strongest thing you will ever feel. Because you see how great they are, how accomplished they are, how beautiful and how grounded they are. It’s what you aspire to be. In a world we’re living in right now, we need those people.

I just had that random epiphany and you probably won’t understand me on that level of where you’re fully in my shoes. No one really can, and I mean that in the best possible way.

The harder it is to explain something to someone, the more special it is. Because it was truly only meant for you to feel.
